Commitment to a Respectful and Supportive Community – AID Upstate
At AID Upstate, we are committed to creating a respectful, supportive, and welcoming environment in every aspect of our mission, services, and organizational culture. For over 35 years, we have served the Upstate of South Carolina with a focus on the prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS. We believe that fostering a workplace and service model where everyone feels acknowledged and valued is essential to our success and to the health of our community.
Our People:
We embrace the wide range of experiences, identities, and perspectives that our staff, patients, and community members bring. These varied life journeys enrich our work, strengthen our programs, and allow us to better meet the needs of those affected by HIV/AIDS. We strive to create a space where everyone can fully participate and feel welcomed just as they are.
Our Commitments:
We acknowledge that unequal access and outcomes exist in healthcare—often shaped by longstanding societal patterns that disproportionately impact some groups. At AID Upstate, we work intentionally to reduce these gaps through thoughtful services, outreach, and advocacy so that all individuals have the opportunity to receive high-quality care and support.
Our Culture:
We work to cultivate a space where every individual is treated with respect, where their voice matters, and where differences are not only acknowledged but honored. We aim to foster a sense of community in which each person is encouraged to be authentic rather than pressured to conform.
Our Vision:
We understand that the fight against HIV/AIDS cannot be separated from broader social issues. That’s why we continue to educate ourselves, our staff, and our community to ensure that our services are responsive and appropriate for all the people we serve. We invite our patients, partners, and supporters to join us in our continued efforts to end HIV/AIDS and improve health outcomes for all we serve.
Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve and in the world we share.
